Meet Tom

I'm Tom, the founder and trip host behind The Irie Trip.

I'm passionate about reggae music and actively promote reggae music back home in Belgium. Music has always been a big part of my connection with Jamaica and its culture.

Whenever I get the chance, you'll also find me in the water. I love surfing, traveling, meeting new people and discovering places beyond the usual tourist spots.

For me, The Irie Trip is all about sharing those passions with others. Good music, good people, adventure and unforgettable experiences.

Why Jamaica?

Jamaica has been a special part of my life since 2018, and I've been returning to the island every year ever since.

What keeps bringing me back is much more than the beautiful beaches. It's the people, the music, the food, the incredible nature and the unique energy of the island. Over the years, I've discovered hidden gems, made local connections and experienced a side of Jamaica that you don't always find in a travel guide.

That's exactly what I want to share through The Irie Trip. I want you to experience the Jamaica I've come to know and love, while I take care of the journey so you can simply enjoy the ride.

How The Irie Trip started

The idea was simple: bring together a small group of people and create the kind of trip I would want to join myself. Personal, relaxed and adventurous, without the feeling of being on a traditional group tour.

But from the beginning, I also wanted The Irie Trip to be about more than just traveling. If we get to enjoy everything Jamaica has to offer, I believe it’s important that we also give something back.

That means traveling with respect for the people, culture and places we visit. We choose local experiences, work with local people and businesses whenever possible and encourage our travelers to connect with communities in a genuine and respectful way.

The goal is to make sure our trips don't just create great memories for us, but also have a positive impact on the people and communities that welcome us.

That idea became The Irie Trip. Traveling together, experiencing Jamaica for real, leaving something positive behind and coming back home with an unforgettable experience.
